Hi all,

Thanks for your prayers.

Today 10 people attended Bible discussion, plus another person who came to see me before we started.

It was a bit of a slow start with only half being there at 1.30pm.. However God was gracious and by the time we had finished singing songs and began Bible study most had arrived.

One guy who has not been since last year came and really enjoyed the Bible study. He enjoyed it so much that we had to give him a piece of paper so he could copy the notes I made on the whiteboard. This is really God working in him as I don’t think my Bible discussions/talk is that noteworthy.

Derek and Ann were also there to help out and Roxan from my Church provided a great lunch.

I have told my Church that we cannot change the day we meet for Bible discussion. Hopefully this will not be a recurring issue.

Danny from my Church also ran the Bible study I run on Sundays for those few who attend. Thanks Danny.

February Shum 2012

Well the first month of the year for Shum has finished. Many thanks to the team that has participated this month. I hope you found your time on Tuesday helpful and challenging.

It is always encouraging for me to have people attend and who want to be there and share the gospel with others

Hi all

Thank you for your prayers

Today 11 people attended Bible discussion. This was not including Derek , Ann and myself. Unfortunately two had to leave early as the police were meeting them at their place, not great. It was good to have Ann back today from here holidays in Singapore. She said she could not get a flight back and had to stay longer. Poor thing, I should be so lucky.

We had 3 Birthdays this week in the group so I brought some birthday cake along and yes it went quickly. Roxan from the church I attend kindly provided a great lunch today.

A fire in Oxford St caused traffic chaos in Surry Hills today as well which delayed one of the birthday girls in arriving. However she still made it.

I also visited a couple in Surry Hills who were not there. So I visited his sister and daughters next door, only to find out that the husband of the couple is in hospital. I prayed with them. Please pray that God impacts all their lives.

This evening I also had to go to Belvoir St Baptist Church ( where we meet for SHUM on Tuesday Nights). There is an elderly couple I have got to know who attend Bible discussion there on Thursday evenings. The husband was missing and the wife told me he had just passed away only a couple of weeks ago. This was sad news and I spent some time in prayer with her. She shared with me how much she misses him. They had been together 33 years.

Please pray for her.

Please also pray for some issues I am currently facing at Church. Prayer for strength and wisdom would be appreciated.

Thursday 9th and 16th February

Hi all Thanks for your prayers.

The last two weeks we have had 10 people attend Thursday Bible discussion. So far each week of February a new person has attended. Yesterday a guy I have known for a number of years who has never been to the Thursday group before decided to attend. I had not seen him for about 4 months and yesterday he appears on the doorstep. Praise God.

Please pray that new people who attend may return.

Please also pray about this issue:

The church we meet at on Thursdays has requested we change the day we meet. Friday is the next available day for me I put this to the group but only half would be able to attend if we met on Friday. Not only this the routine of Thursdays has been established for many and this is a battle in itself to get people to routinely attend and make it part of their life.

Please pray that an amicable solution can be reached and that prejudice has no influence over decisions made.

Thursday February 2nd 2012

Today was the start of 2012 for the Thursday group. This was our first meeting back since December 2011 so it was hard to know if everyone would return or remember.

However 9 people attended and not all the regulars are back. One new person attended who was the grand-daughter of one of the regulars. Hopefully she will return another time.

I am thankful that so many returned particularly as the weather was not friendly with rain falling all day.

Please pray that people will continue to return.
