Thursday 30th December

Today was a very quiet day even around the city. Despite this 7 people attended today. This was not including Ann and Danny from CPC who came to help out. It was a relaxed afternoon with two of the guys staying back to chat and have coffee till 4:45pm. Fortunately for me there were no where near as many cars on the road coming home today as usual.
Please continue to pray for the group , next week will be our last week until 3rd February 2011.

Thursday 23rd December

Today 10 people attended with one new person in the group. This was not including Josh , Ann and Lisa who helped immensely today and David who led us in communion. Roxan made a special desert which was welcomingly received. Everyone appeared to enjoy themselves including the communion. Don walker also paid us a visit later to wish everyone a merry Christmas.
Praise and thank God for the day and the people who attended.

Thursday 16th December

Today 11 people attended Bible discussion. Things were quite peaceful today. Although we had one person there who was very drunk and sleeping it off in our group. He left after and I had to walk him up and down the stairs because I was scared he might just fall down. It was extremely busy today as I had no one to help except Ann who arrived later as she was helping at another lunch. Please continue to pray for the group and that God will work in them to change their lives.

Thursday 2nd December

Thanks for your prayers everyone,
Today 13 people attended Bible discussion. This was not inclding helpers Ann, Lisa and Josh Smith and myself. The group was large but praise God I think the afternoon went well. We also had another newcomer today, lets hope he returns. God was also gracious to a guy who stayed back so I could help him find accommodation for the night. I managed through homeless persons services to get him accommodation. God was extremely gracious, I just hope he realises this.
Please continue to pray for the group. It is evident to me God is working through everyone's prayers.

Tuesday 30th November

Thanks to everyone who participated in the month of November. This was the last Tuesday night for the year. Many people came to see us the last two Tuesday nights and we praise and thank God for His sovereign interaction in this.
Please continue to pray for the Thursdays Bible discussions as they will be continuing throughout December and some of January 2011.
I hope that the Novemeber team was challenged and I also hope that I will see you again sometime next year. Please remember to continue to pray for those you have met on Tuesday nights.

Hi everyone and thanks for your prayers.
Today even though we had regulars away due to illness and holidays 9 people still attended Bible discussion. I was fortunate to have James Fong lead the study today and Rev David Tsai also sat in and participated in the study today. Roxan Chan cooked another great lunch which was very appreciated. Ann also helped out again today. Please continue to pray for the group and that God will work in the lives of all who attend.

Tuesday 23rd November

Tuesday night was an interesting night with many people attending the night. We ran out of hot water I think before 9.00pm. Some good conversations were also had and hopefully some of those will convert into attendance on Thursday. Either way though God is good and gracious and knows who he wants there on Thursday.

Thursday 18th November

Thanks for your prayers everyone.

Today 10 people attended Bible study however 2 had to leave early before Bible discussion. A woman whom attend brought her boyfriend today. He is not a believer so I was really expecting them not to stay. But they both came they did not have lunch but she came to let me know she was travelling ok. Her boyfriend interestingly enough, who does not believe asked me if I could get him a copy of the worship DVD we were singing to. The two songs we sang were specifically about 1) Jesus on the cross and 2) God in creation. Well lets just pray this has an affect and he will return. One guy who came to see me on Tuesday night came today as well. It was encouraging to see him again and hopefully, prayerfully he will be a regular fixture? Who knows. Strangely enough we had a few people today away , who are normally regulars but by God's grace and providence numbers were still good. Not that, that is the way to measure fruit.

Thursday 11th November

Today 11 people attended Bible discussion with 1 new person attending. This person was told about the group from another guy I know. Funnily I have not seen him for about 8 months. God is gracious. One other guy who came last week who was not doing so good mentally came today in a much better state and really enjoyed his time. I am truly thankful to God for that. Today as like other days we have been singing two songs before we start the Bible discussion and today it was so encouraging to see everyone get involved and enthusiastic about singing praises. That's just God working nothing to do with me I was singing and just watching. I am also thankful that a person I met on Tusday night who was very aggravated and was threatening to attend on Thursday group and disrupt things, did not appear. Even though I did not give this much thought I realise after today that God is watching over us when we do not even realise it. Praise God.

Thursday 4th November

Thanks for your prayers. 7 people attended and two new people came, hopefully they will return. This was not including myself, my wife, and Ann and Shemariah who came to help.

The study was a little quite today, but people were thinking. One person who came today was not well and spent another hour afterwards talking to myself my wife Lisa and the minister of the Church I attend. He really just needed to vent but was very aggressive in doing so. However even though I am use to this it is still very hard and even harder for others their not to feel threatened or put off by this person.

Please continue to pray for the group as you can see untoward things do occur. Satan works hard to stop and place as many obstacles as he can in people’s path.

Thursday 28th October

Today started out as a quiet with few people but then day developed into quite a large group. We ended up with 11 people attending Bible discussion. This did not include Ann and my wife from CPC, Josh from Sutherland, myself and James Fong who came to lead the Bible discussion today. Roxan Chan cooked a magnificent lunch. 3 people who attended today were new. Please pray that they may return so we can continue to encourage them with a life in Jesus.

Thanks to the particpants of Shum October. The last Tuesday in October saw many people attend and many invites were given to people about Thursday's Bible discussion. Thursday 21st October

Thanks again for your prayers.

7 sort of 8 people attended Bible discussion today. This does not include some helpers Ann, Josh and myself. Again another new person came but forgot he had something else to attend to and left early.

Please pray for one lady who has an ongoing breathing problem that doctors really need to investigate quickly. It is hard work for her to come I pick he up from central and drop her back at the bus station to ease her walking. Seeing her commitment is such an encouragement to me.

Pray also that one person who attends regularly will be able to return as he has been meeting up with his family on Thursdays.

Today 7 people attended Bible discussion. Not including Ann and myself. Scila provided a great lunch which everyone enjoyed. One of the ladies who does not attend during the winter months has now returned as it has warmed up. Please pray that God will continue to speak through me no matter how I think the day proceeds.

Thursday 7th October

Thank you for your prayers. Today I thought that not many people would attend Bible study as one person had already sent their apologies and another was in hospital. However, God had other plans 12 people attended today plus myself and one helper Shemariah. Praise God. Please pray for one person who left early I think because someone ticked him off. Unfortunately no one from Tuesday night showed although I have talked to a couple from Tuesday night.
God works in mysterious ways: Today I got a call from the Doctor looking after the lady I took to hospital from Church camp on the weekend. I have been monitoring how she has been going each day and wondering if I need to transport her home. Anyway her doctor from hospital rang me today and she happened to be one of the people I had given a talk to a few weeks earlier at another Church. Praise God that He is watching over my friend in hospital from Thursday group. Today everyone sent their best wishes to her and prayed for her.
I will be picking this lady up from hospital tomorrow to transport her home.
I was also encouraged again by the way God works. One man who attended today , struggling with addiction, said in the morning he spoke to his counsellor who asked what he was going to do today. He said he suddenly remembered Bible study was on today and replied I am going to Bible study at the Chinese Prebyterian Church. Only God can insert things like that into someone's mind when there are so many other things for them to think about.

1st-3rd October Church Camp

This was an eventful weekend. 2 people pulled out at 6.30pm on Friday evening after many phone conversations. One other lady was was sick and should have gone to hospital. However such was her desire to attend, she pushed herself to meet me at the pickup point. Early Saturday morning I had to transport and admit her to hospital at 6.30am. She is still there at present recovering and being diagnosed. Hopefully she will be released tomorrow and able to attend Bible discussion group. Please pray for her recovery. For those left who did attend the camp they had a great time. Praise God. I also hope they learnt things which I am sure they did.

Thursday 30th September

Thank you for your prayer

Today went well with 9 people attending. This was not including Josh Smith, Ann and my wife Lisa who also came into help. Roxan Chan provided a great luch for the group today

A couple who I have been encouraging to come attended today. One of them stayed for the study and participated. The other unfortunatelt was not travelling so well. Please continue to pray for the Church camp this weekend as none of them are there until they are there. We will be meeting at my place and having dinner there before transporting everyone to the camp. 5 of them are coming only one has dropped out so far. Please also pray that they will learn and grow at the camp and have an enjoyable time.

Please also pray for myself and my wife Lisa as this weekend will be extremely busy looking after the 5 we are taking to the camp and ensuring they fit in. Lisa is also taking care of the pre-schoolers program.

Please also pray for the person who was not travelling so well as they will also be attending the camp.

Thursday 23rd September

Thanks for your prayers

11 people attended Bible discussion group today. This was not including Josh accompanied by new wife Priscialla, Anne and myself. Seala from CPC cooked a delicious lunch which everyone loved and was dispensed with quickly.

Mark from Tuesday nights attended for the first time today although he did not stay for the discussion. The reality is it was a small miracle just to get him there. Please pray for a couple whose intention it is to come to the Church camp but this at present is thwart with obstacles. Please also pray for others who have committed to coming to the camp, that they will attend and learn and grow in Christ.

Thursday 9th September

Hi all thanks for your prayers.

Thanks also to Wendy who provided a fantastic lunch today, Ann and Josh who helped out and James Fong who led the Bible discussion today.

Even though we had a few people away 7 people still turned up to Bible discussion. Satish who some of you may have met on Tuesday night also joined us.

We enjoyed a good time of fellowship as usual.Please continue to pray for Thursdays and the people who attend that God will work in their lives.

Next Thursday as the Church is being used for a conference there will be no Thursday group Bible discussion. Please pray this does not disrupt their schedule. Please also pray about the coming Church camp which at least 4 of them are attending. Pray that they will learn and grow in God and feel welcomed there. Thanks Michael.

Today 7 people attended Bible study. Thanks to Danny Gock and Ann Lee who helped out today. So far there are 4 possibly 5 people who are attending the Church camp from the Thursday group. Thursday 26th August

Today 6 people attended Bible discussion. This is a little down from our normal numbers but with this size group people were more willing to share. We also sang a couple of songs at the beginning which most people enjoyed. These songs were sung to a praise music dvd. So far I have 4 people committed to attending the Church camp please continue to pray about this and the logistics of getting them there and taking care of them at the camp.
Roxan and her daughter Bethany prepared a beautiful lunch and desert for the group today. Thank you both.

Today 12 people attended Bible discussion. This was not including Ann, Josh and myself. One guy finally made it there from my invitation and others on Tuesday night. He had also tried previously to attend but I believe now he got the wrong Church. Another guy who had not been doing so well a few weeks ago returned and was calm and glad to be there. Praise God and thank you for everyone's prayers. Sorry no photo today. Lisa's fudge brownies were also a hit. Thanks.

Thursday 12 August

Hi all,
Thanks for your prayers. Thursday was well attended with 10 people turning up. One guy who came I think has only ever been once before a long time ago. He was very drunk but extremely quiet and well behaved. I think he slept some of the time as is expected. The son of one of the men who attends regularly was extremely coherent and shared with the group. That was great. It does not normally happen but when it does it is very encouraging. I also started advertising our Church camp to the group. I think at least 4or 5 will attend please pray about this.
Please also pray about the organisation and logistics of getting them there and watching over them.

5th August Thursday Bible Discussion

Today 10 people attended Bible discussion. This was not including Josh, Ann, Shirley and myself. David the minister of CPC was also there for a short time. Thanks to Shirley who provided a great lunch which was a hit. Thanks for your many prayers I am sure this made the day run quite smoothly. A new person came today and I think really enjoyed the afternoon. Please pray he will return. I am also thankful a regular elderly lady attended today as her heart is not good and her pacemaker will be replaced this month.

28th July Thursday Bible Discussion

Today 7 people attended Bible discussion not including James, Josh Ann and myself. This seems to be the average number lately with people being away and Jim in Bali. I was thankful this week to have James lead the group and Roxan cook lunch for us. It was a tough study today with aggressive Bible discussion. However saying this I am thankful that people will express their mind and possibly get out some agression they are harbouring. I am also thankful that God was with us and everyone left the afternoon at peace and in a reconciled state.
Through this God continually reminds me of what our Chruches should be like. We will always have disagreements but how we deal with them will show what we truly do believe in.
Thanks for your prayers they are much needed. Thanks also to God for continually showing His sovereignty over Tuesday nights and Thursdays.

Today we had 7 people attend plus Josh,Ann, Lisa (my wife ) and myself. 2 new people attended Ray whom I have known for a few years now and Nossi who came because someone had told him about our group. He seemed to enjoy the fellowship. Praise God that he continues to bring people even during this cold weather.

Strangely enough with the weather fine and sun out many of our regulars were away. However 6 people still attended which was good to see. One guy was going through a bad patch this made it a little difficult to run things yesterday. Please pray for him that God will give him peace and calmness. He was angry at everyone and expressed this to me clearly after everyone had left.

Thursday 8th July

Everyone thank you for your prayers. Today 11 people attended Bible discussion. It was wet and cold and God still brought people. It was a particularly busy time today as a funeral was also underway in the main Church and people were coming and going and I was speaking to others around at the same time. (situation normal)
July Shum team - Craig who I spoke to (and maybe some of you as well) and encouraged to attend turned up today praise God. On Tuesday night if you meet him Please encourage him to continue to come and have fellowship with us. He has a beard and is a little rough looking but is a very nice guy. Please pray he will return. Please also continue to pray for one guy in Thursday's group that God will continue to soften his heart and speak to him as He has been doing. Sorry I took the photo near the end of the meeting, with so much going on I often forget.

July 2nd Thursday

Thanks for your prayers. Today 9 people attended Bible discussion plus 3 helpers, Ann, Danny and my wife Lisa. Thanks to Lisa who cooked lunch which was appreciated on such a cold day. I think Bible discussion went ok with most people participating.
Please keep praying for Jim he is struggling with addictions but does believe and really wants to be there on Thursdays. Sorry forgot to take a photo.

Thursday 24th June Bible Discussion

Thank you for praying everyone. Today there were at least 14 people who attended. 3 were new another two attended from Tuesday night. The two from Tuesday night who came did say they would try and make the effort to come. They did, praise God. It was an interesting session with people becoming tense over certain issues in the Bible. At times it is more like a real time apologetic session. Praise God that people came and pray that God will work in their hearts. One guy who attended today really gets alot out of reading God's word. This is not because of me but more so I can see that God is really working on him and in his life. He has many issues so pray that God will continue to work miracles in his life. Also thank you for the wonderful lunch Roxan prepared today

Thursday Bible Discussion 10th June

Thanks to all who prayed for the Thursday group. Today 8 people attended not including Ann, my wife Lisa and myself. We had a good time today and the group enjoyed taping the attributes of a believers onto Ann (Rom 5:1 being clothed with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience). Mary enjoyed this so much she took the attributes home with her. Another guy who is a semi regular came today. He was not going so well. However it was great that God had worked in him and reminded him to come and be encouraged in God's word. Please pray that he will come regularly as attending the group tends to bring him peace.

June SHUM

June Shum has begun with most of the team coming from different Churches - Edward Eager Lodge, Chinese Christian Church(Milson's point), EFC (Lindfield), Korean Central Church (Sorry forgot the full name again Bryan), Evangelical Chinese Church Sydney and Chinese Presbyterian Church. It is encouraging to be in such a good mix of faithful people.

Today 10 people attended Thursday Bible study. Two new people. Please pray that they will return and thank God they came. One of the new comers I had met previously on Tuesday nights months ago. Often I found this to be the case that people I have invited attend months down the track.

Today 9 people attended Bible discussion. I think most enjoyed themselves. Thank God that one guy who has been coming recently and can be a handful has really been very well behaved lately. We also had a special guest appearance from James Fong who led the study today. Roxan Chan cooked lunch for the group today and yes it was delicious. Thank you Roxan. Lisa Tang and Ann Lee from CPC were also there to help out. Thank you everyone.
Yes sometimes it does take alot of effort for events like Thursday to continue. Praise God for the help today.

Today 11 people attended Bible discussion with 2 new people attending. Mary I think has been encouraging people to attend. Praise and Thank God for this. This is not including another guy who waited for the activities to finish before he would talk to me. Please pray that God will work in this man's heart. He is not doing very well at all.

17th March Thursday Bible Discussion

It was a strange day with 5 people attending Thursdays group. Some had to leave early. Another person came but then had to leave as they were feeling ill from effects of the flu I believe.
However people came and we talked about God and read His word together and that is good.

Today 10 people attended Bible study. God was gracious one person who previously had caused problems came today and was well behaved and participated in the Bible study. We are having one week recess as I will be away for one week. Thursday 25th March

Today 12 people attended Bible study. Stretch form Tuesday night came, he is not doing great. Please pray for him. Unfortunately James Fong could not lead the study today as his son was ill. We hope for a quick recovery for him. Don't worry James, there will be many more opportunities. Today was just not meant to be. We were very fortunate though to have Roxan Chan cook lunch, lasagna for us and salad. Everybody loved this and wanted to thank the cook. I showed a short video today which everyone enjoyed. This was the video we were trying to share on Tuesday night. Then I asked questions and had Bible study.

Thursday 18th March

Today 12 or 13 people attended Bible study. One new person, who Mary invited and another guy turned up who has not been there for a month or so. 3 of them attended from invitations on Tuesday night. God is working in people's lives, one guy I had met prviously returned and also placed himself back into the same accommodation that I orginally acquired for him. Who would have thought. Certainly not me and I am the person who got him that accommodation orginally.
Also thank God for His grace as a guy who had turned up previously and caused some problems attended today and behaved himself.
Special thanks to Danny Gock who came from my Church today to help out. Thanks Danny.

Sunday march 14th

Well praise and thanks to God for bringing 5 people from Tuesday and Thursdays meetings to Sunday service 9.00am (Lonnie, Collin, Stretch, David , Azelan). I was more than plesantly surprised. Jim (Not Jim with the fuzzy beard) has also been attending the service fairly regularly. Please continue to pray for the people and our meetings.

Thursday Bible study 11 March 2010

Well today we had record attendance with 15 people attending. 5 people came from last Tuesday night (SHUM). This obviously made a large group and a little more difficult to handle but they were all very well behaved. Jim also came and arived at around 11.00am, Bible study starts at 1.00pm. he stayed the whole time. I am also thankful for a guy who came today Lonnie. He does not believe but in his behaviour was very repectful to me and things I said even though I could see he did not agree with some of the things I said. Pray God will continue to work in his heart. Some have mentioned they want to come on Sunday and come to this Church regularly , we'll see what happens.

Tuesday Night 9th March

March 4th Thursday Bible study

Thanks for everyone's prayers for the Thursday group. Thursday was again well attended with 10 people. Two guys attended from their invitations on Tuesday night. Praise God. One of them though looked fairly sick and left a little early, I hope to go to the hospital. One woman who has been cominh is proving a little irritating so please pray for wisdom as we deal with her.

March Shum Team

The March Shum Team has started. The first Tuesday night in March was well received with many marginalised people attending. This happened to the extent we ran out of hot water. Lets pray for a challenging month where people are encouraged in Jesus, both believers and non-believers.

21 Feb Sunday

A guy some of you may remember Jim (white hair and beard) after 2 months showed up to see me on Sunday. I had not seen him for 2 months but previously had spent alot of time with him and procurred him accommodation as well. During the absence though he left that accommodation and is now back on the street. This is not as bad as it sounds as he is doing quite well and God obviously prompted him to come to Church and see me. We shared a good time of fellowship together that morning and hopefully he will feel comfortable enough to return. God is amazing! Please continue to pray for Jim.
