Many People Thursday 20th Feb 2014

Hi everyone,
Despite the amount of people who came through the doors today , everyone was relatively well behaved. I praise God for this as I am sure he is aware of the days I am more ready to  handle problems and the days I am not.
Today12 stayed for people for Bible study. Another 2 came but something happened and they left even before we served lunch. On top of this another two came (one a regular). The visitor attended service last Sunday at Edward Eagar Lodge. However they could only stay for lunch and left.
Thanks for your prayers. You can probably understand now with this number of people attending and each one with so many issues, why I always request prayer.
Each week some people have been coming from Edward Eagar Lodge, however these few want to stay for lunch only. Pray that God will touch their hearts somehow and they will hear His words..

Thanks Michael

Thursday 13th Feb 2014

Hi everyone,
Thanks for your prayers. Today 16 people came through our doors. Of those 16, 12 stayed for Bible study 1 of who was their first time. I have in the past week been offered and accepted the role of Chaplain/Pastor at Edward  Eager Lodge. It was interesting to note that last week and this week new people came from the Lodge who have never been before. I am guessing they are coming to possibly  check me out. Last week 2 new comers attended and this week 3 from Edward Eagar Lodge. Unfortunately the 3 today did not stay for Bible study but were extremely polite. In fact more polite than the regulars.
I would also appreciate prayer for Sundays and the change of me being the Pastor there. Pray people will adjust quickly and that I will be able to handle whatever comes my way there.
Please pray also that I have wisdom in the way I divide my time
Thanks again for your prayers they are most appreciated

SHUM Begins for 2014

Hi everyone! So begins 2014.
The week started with a great group of people participating in Shum on Tuesday nights. This was attended well particularly for the first Tuesday night of the year.

Today also saw the Thursday Bible study group begin. I was unsure how many people would attend but 13 people attended and 3 of these were new. Please pray they will return.

Even with this number of people we still had a couple of regulars away. Thank you for those of you who prayed for the group today. Not only were they there in number but they were also appeared to be pleased to have returned and begun Thursday Bible study for the year.

However this changes weekly and your consistent prayers are greatly appreciated and needed.  God is always gracious and praise and thanks must go to Him for bringing people along today and  in a good state of mind.
Pray that God will use me to speak truths about Jesus and His word to them.

NEWS
I have been offered a Chaplaincy role At Wesley Mission’s Edward Eager Lodge. I will be doing this 2 days a week part time and 1 day a week with CPC. On top of this are my other SHUM responsibilities including Thursday Bible study group.
This will be a change for both my wife and I as we will be ministering at  Edward Eager Lodge (EEL) every  Sunday.
Please pray that people will be able to adapt and even embrace the changes that are occurring at EEL. This phase will  be a testing time for all involved.
Pray that we will minister and  teach faithfully and truthfully.
Pray also that God will work in the hearts of the people there and that their lives will be transformed. If you have any questions for me please contact me by mobile or email (Michael-tang@optusnet.com.au)

Latest News - will need your prayers

Over the past year Wesley Mission and I have been in talks. They have approached me to be the Chaplain at Edward Eager Lodge as the current Pastor their will be relinquishing his duties next year. We are still working out detail about all this. However it is confirmed with Wesley and myself that I will be there. This will begin as part time capacity (probably 2 daysa week) as CPC (my current Church) still requires my services, at least in the interim. Hence I will possibly continue working for CPC probably 1 day a week.
Please pray for wisdom in these areas. There is still much detail to work out including how Thursday Bible study may fit into this.
Wesley has communicated to me that  they  happy for  and want to encourage other people/congregations to take part in the Tuesday night ministry.
Please pray that God will use me to achieve his will in these areas.
If anyone has questions or comments email , sms or phone me.
Thanks again for your prayers.

Have a joyous Christmas 5th Dec Thursday 2013

Hi everyone,
Thanks for your prayers throughout the year. Today was the last Thursday Bible study meeting tell next year. I will still be meeting people on Tuesdays in between being away.
13 people came through our doors. We had a celebration lunch today. In typical Chinese fashion we provided dim sum, har gau, char sil bau and noodles.

10 people stayed for Bible study and everyone was in a good state of mind. I also gave out presents.
I would like to take this opportunity to Thank all who have participated and supported SHUM  throughout  the year. This mission can only continue with your support, through prayer and participation. This I believe is a partnership just as Paul refers to in his letter to the Philippians.

Phil 1:4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy
Phil 1:5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now

To everyone out there have a joyous Christmas that may grow you even closer to Him.
Thanks
Michael
